Happy Thanksgiving
Written by F. Lawrence Caslin
Thursday, 27 November 2008

ImageThanksgiving Turkey. Since this is our first Thanksgiving together, we here at Scrivel want to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving.  We know it's a cliche but we're saying it anyway.

With that crap aside, why are you on the internet?  Get off the internet and go be with your family you pathetic sod.

And if you can't be with your family, go play a game or grab a book to read or take a long country drive.

You can come visit us when you're at work or have something important that needs to be put off.

Okay, that feels better.  This is F. Lawrence Caslin saying, "I got food to eat, I'm outta here."

Happy Thanksgiving.

ImageImage (excerpted from a fake live radio broadcast)

F. Lawrence Caslin:  Ross Cavins will soon be releasing his first book, "Follow The Money," and we have an exclusive interview with him here on Scrivel.com.  Ross, tell everyone a little about your book.

Ross Cavins:  Well, first, I should say that it's a collection of interconnected short stories.

Caslin:  It says that on the cover.

Ross Cavins:  I know, I just ... so, there are eleven stories in all and--

Vampire For Sale
Written by Rick Taubold
Thursday, 20 November 2008

ImageImage The vampire surveyed the street in a neighborhood where few white people were comfortable walking.  The rain had stopped.  Puddles steamed here and there on the streets and sidewalks.

He stopped in front of a store window.  Water droplets on the glass caught the streetlights, like stars against an inky sky.  He examined the unremarkable person reflected in the black mirror: the dark hair, military cut and goatee; prominent eyebrows with a tiny pointed arch at the center of each; intelligent eyes close together; broad shoulders under a leather coat; not particularly tall; crisp, dark attire belied a construction worker.

A figure appeared behind him.  Long brown hair flowed over the man's ears and framed the face and Italian nose at its center; deep, gorgeous eyes with faint smile lines; a sleek well-cared-for body.
