This is an ongoing serial exclusively for my website readers. Check back often for updates, or sign up for my Hook Me Up! Newsletter and I’ll let you know when the next installment’s going live. Let me know on the blog if you’re enjoying it!
Part One: Bloodletting Installment 2 I took a closer look at the guy in the barn door. He could be carrying a concealed weapon easily enough. I moved in front of Uncle Archie. “Can we help you?” He grinned. Nice smile, nice teeth. “Sorry. I just joined the local fire station and they mentioned this place. I just got off-duty and figured I’d take a look, since the rest of the guys sort of insinuated we come out here a lot.” “True.” Uncle Archie cleared his throat. “We’re fine, thanks for stopping by.” “I’m Mitch, Mitch Ryder,” he said, putting out his hand. |

Jay looks up at the sky. It's a good day. The gray, winter clouds are thinning, and it's not as cold as it has been. He kneels and sets his journal on the ground in front of him. "Beautiful Dreams and Warm Memories" he has written on the cover. It's full of stories he's gathered, some from his own memories. He's chosen his favorites. He pauses before he opens the cover, then flips to the first bookmarked page. |

The NukeBoys had been begging since August for a sleep over of Greek Navy proportions. They both stated that having three guests EACH would make for a memorable event. “It’ll be a blast!” they said. Yeah, so are IED’s.
We convinced them that three guests each was too many and they reluctantly agreed to two. Each time the momentous occasion got close on the calendar, something would come up to delay it. Finally, yesterday, we agreed that tonight would be the best night to have it since they were out of school. NukeMom was all for it because she knew she could beat a hasty retreat upstairs and leave the management to me since she had to work the next day. Her idea and she bails on her Wingman. |

And now we continue with our next installment of Formerly Fun's BlogOpera.
When we last left off, the cute barista showed up at our heroine's door. After some friendly, uneasy banter, he goes in for the first kiss ... letting it linger. She's not impulsive, normally, but this time, she grabbed his hand and dragged him to her bedroom ... - F. Lawrence Caslin |

The end of chapter one in Suzy Soro's unreleased book.
Where we last left off, Suzy met George, a retired pitcher for the Kansas City Royals. Italian through and through, he captured her heart when they had bit parts in a Robert Redford movie. George's wife had cancer and after her death, he and Suzy talked on the phone all the time. For the next month, she was his confidant and eventually, they had phone sex. Then the real thing. Suzy had convinced George to get the children a kitten to help them get over their mother's death. He did. Two months after she and George broke up, Figgy called Suzy to tell the kitten had died on the front lawn ... |

I caption classes for college students, which involves setting up two laptops, one for me, one for the student, connecting them with a wireless connection, and typing anything anyone says for the entire class.
I stand outside the lecture hall, waiting for the students from the previous class to file out. One after the other they flip open their cell phones and disappear, as if being beamed up to the mother ship. I drag my rolling computer case into the lecture hall and begin to set up. I always set up in the center, behind the last row, with my back against the wall. The back of the hall is where students go to not pay attention. The last row fills the fastest. |
