  Every time I go to the mall, I see kids wearing NBA jerseys. Kobe Bryant. Jason Kidd. LeBron James. Kevin Garnett. Shaquille O'Neal. Occasionally I even see a Michael Jordan floating around the sea of colorful clothing.
Rare are the old-school veterans represented by the youth of today. The original stars that made the NBA what it is today. Julius Erving ... Magic Johnson ... Earl The Pearl Monroe ... Larry Bird ... Charles Barkley ...
 Purple or Gold, take your pick.
Rambis was a member of the championship Lakers team that dominated the eighties. AC Green, Magic Johnson, James Worthy, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Byron Scott. These were the starting five.
And Kurt Rambis was the quintessential sixth man. The token white guy. The geek in the glasses and short shorts with the Tom Selleck mustache.
I've never seen a Kurt Rambis jersey for sale but I'm sure with the technology out there now, I can easily get one made. So if you're ever walking around the mall, and you see a balding white guy with a gut stretching out a 2XL #31 and RAMBIS emblazoned proudly on the back ... gimme a what-up-old-school holler.
