Who Tried That First? PDF Print E-mail

ImageImageHave you ever seen or heard about somebody doing something a little strange and the first thing that popped into your mind was, how did that guy come up with the idea and the guts to try that? That's certainly the first question that came to mind the first time I watched a kid shove a nickel up his nose and snort it with a force that seemed to drive his eyeballs into his forehead until he produced this same nickel out of his mouth!

His answer was short and sweet. "I just tried it one day man"!

Perhaps the real question should be, what in the hell would possess you to attempt this? Nonetheless that day in earth science class my freshmen year of high school earned a spot in my memory.

Heres another one. Ive heard over and over theres a frog you can lick and the result is you will trip balls! The frog supposedly excretes a poison that renders a similiar effect to LSD.  If this is so, I would like to know how this bit of knowledge came about!  Who was the first guy to try this and what were his intentions when he licked a damm frog?

I assume it was a male; I just cant envision a woman even touching a frog much less giving him a good lick!  (Allthough there are things that I've unfortunately seen on the internet that almost make me want to take that statement back).

What was the motivation behind this first froglicker?

You don't have to do much more than watch the Letterman show to find other examples of people doing things they just should'nt know are possible.  Where they get the idea or the lack of sense to try some of these things will quite possibly remain a mystery. One thing is for sure though, there are an unlimited amount of morons out there and I'm grateful for them.

Who else would make YouTube so popular?

Nome D. Plume - Explain Haggis IP:76.xxx.xxx.xxx | 2008-02-01 16:09:07
I so agree. I have had similar thoughts on food. Haggis, for example. What nutbag thought "You know what I would like to try? I want to shove all the leftovers of a slaughtered sheep into its own stomach, boil it, and eat that sh*t!" Who the hell looked at a prawn and thought "I'll bet that tastes good!". Rabbit? Sure, I get it. Cow? Absolutely - they're slow and fat. Pigs? Why not. But snails? Blowfish? Squid? Turkey? Who looked at these animals and thought, "Food!"? People are strange.
